PT

The Department of Research and Development (DI&D) of Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) is an interdisciplinary organizational structure whose mission is the promotion, support, promotion, coordination and dissemination of scientific research in the areas of Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Sciences (Including Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Law, Communication, Information Technology, Management and Human Resource Management) and related fields.

DI&D integrates the Ethics Commitee (CE-ISMT), the Interdisciplinary Centre of Psychossocial Research (CIIPSO), and promotes the dissemination of two scientific peer review journals.

GOALS

  • Develop, promote, approve and support activities and research projects in the Social and Behavioral Sciences;
  • To promote a policy of joint investigation and transversal to the disciplinary areas and lines of investigation, fomenting the creation of interdisciplinary teams;
  • Support the research projects conducted by the coordinators of the research lines;
  • Coordinate institutional relations with other departments, laboratories or centers that pursue research and development objectives, particularly those with which the ISMT has protocol and those that are members of the R&D;
  • To contribute to the recognition and support of the research projects presented by the members of the Research Department by national and/or foreign entities;
  • To contribute to the scientific exchange and cooperation between national and international research-related bodies and departments;
  • Provide services to the academic and scientific communities and to society in general;
  • Promote and support the implementation of advanced training actions for researchers;
  • Promote the participation of pre-graduates, graduates and post-graduates in research activities and projects;
  • Promote the integration of research projects in post-graduate studies;
  • Stimulate the dissemination and publication of research, disseminating scientific knowledge in the community.
  • To promote an editorial policy that privileges the publication of monographs, research reports and scientific journals in the scope of Social Sciences and Behavior;
  • Promote national and international scientific meetings.

REGULATION


Article 1 – Definition


The Department of Research and Development (DI & D) of Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), hereinafter referred to as Department (or the acronym DI & D), is an interdisciplinary organizational structure whose mission is to promote, and dissemination of scientific research in the areas of Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Business Sciences and Information and Communication Technologies (namely Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Law, Communication, Information Technology , Management and Human Resources Management) and related fields.
The DI & D is integrated with the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga, being a differentiated and autonomous department that pursues specific objectives and contributes to the mission and purpose of the Institute.

Article 3 – Objectives


The general objectives of DI & D are:

  • Develop, promote, approve and support activities and research projects in Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Business Sciences and Information, and Communication Technologies;
  • To promote a policy of joint investigation and transversal to the disciplinary areas and lines of investigation, fostering the creation of interdisciplinary teams;
  • Support the research projects conducted by the coordinators of the research lines with the FCT or other donors;
  • Coordinate interinstitutional relations with entities pursuing research and development objectives, particularly those with which the ISMT has protocol and those that are members of the R & D;
  • To contribute to the recognition and support of the research projects presented by DI & D members by national and/or foreign entities;
  • To add to the scientific exchange and cooperation between national and international research-related bodies and departments;
  • Provide services to the academic and scientific communities and society in general;
  • Promote and support the implementation of advanced training actions for researchers;
  • Promote the participation of undergraduate students, graduates, and postgraduates in research activities and projects;
  • Promote the integration of research projects in post-graduate studies; Stimulate the dissemination and publication of research, disseminating scientific knowledge in the community. To promote an editorial policy that privileges the publication of monographs, research reports and articles in scientific journals within the scientific areas of the DI & D; Promote national and international scientific meetings.

Article 4 – Constitution

The DI & D is made up of ISMT researchers and researchers from outside the Institute who so wish and whose scientific production is inscribed in the scientific areas and research policy pursued. Researchers outside the ISMT, however, can not be in a higher number than researchers linked to the ISMT, nor perform DI & D Coordination functions. Teachers, other researchers from postgraduate studies and collaborators in research work with the participation of ISMT researchers are included. DI & D members can be integrated, associates and collaborators.
He is an integrated member, the full-time Ph.D./ ISMT exclusive researcher who meets the conditions established by the Foundation for Science and Technology and ensures a regular scientific production in the Research Line to which he belongs. It is also an integrated member of the fellow or doctorate that has a contract with the DI & D, with a total duration of at least one year. An integrated member may be a collaborating member in another institution, provided that he carries out research activity with a total duration of at least one year in the DI & D. The total percentage of time devoted to research in the two institutions should never exceed 100%; It is an associate member of the researcher who, not belonging to the ISMT, carries out research activities of a permanent / long lasting nature in this unit, with a favorable opinion of the Scientific Committee, and with a favorable opinion of the institution to which it belongs; Any researcher who develops research activities, including postgraduate students and fellows, within the research groups, for a minimum period of one year is a collaborating member.
